Are Springfree trampolines safer?
Springfree trampolines have no springs. Flexible composite rods sit under the mat, the frame is hidden below the jumping surface, and the edge is a soft SoftEdge™ mat with a flexible FlexiNet™ enclosure. They were invented by Dr Keith Alexander, a New Zealand engineer who started work on the design in 1989. Springfree give a 10-year warranty on every part. In 2025, IndyBest named the Springfree Medium Oval "Best for safety".

Its a big spend
Ten years on every part

Every hard part moved out of the way
Rods, not springs
Flexible composite rods under the mat give a smooth bounce, with no springs to pinch or land on.
A hidden frame
The steel frame sits well below the jumping surface, so jumpers can't hit it.
SoftEdge™ mat
The edge of the mat is soft and flexible, in place of the hard pads over springs.
FlexiNet™ enclosure
Flexible net poles that bend to cushion jumpers and guide them back to the middle.
Design features and warranty as described by Springfree. Springfree, SoftEdge, and FlexiNet are trade marks of Springfree Trampoline.

What people ask before buying a Springfree
Still deciding? Talk it through with Poppy and the team. Real people, here in the UK.
9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Are Springfree trampolines safer than spring trampolines?
Springfree designed theirs to remove the hard parts: no springs, the frame below the mat, and a soft edge and flexible net. In 2025, IndyBest named the Springfree Medium Oval its "Best for safety".
Why are Springfree trampolines so expensive?
The rod system and hidden frame cost more to make than springs, and Springfree cover every part for 10 years. Spread over a decade, it works out at a few pounds a week.
What warranty does Springfree give?
10 years on the mat, rods, safety net, frame, net poles, and SoftEdge™, for defects in normal home use, under Springfree's own terms.
Who invented the Springfree trampoline?
Dr Keith Alexander, a New Zealand engineer, who started work on the design in 1989.
Do you sell genuine Springfree trampolines?
Yes. We're an official UK retailer of Springfree trampolines, every model we sell is in stock, dispatched from the UK, and delivered in 1 to 2 days, and our 90-day Bounce Back Promise comes on top of Springfree's warranty.
What's the weight limit on a Springfree?
Up to 100kg on most models, and 79kg on the 6ft Mini, 8ft Compact Round, and 9ft x 6ft Compact Oval.
Which Springfree size should I buy?
Measure your lawn and allow 2m all round. Our free garden size checker shows which models fit.
Can someone build my Springfree for me?
