Lingfield, Surrey, 14 November 2025: trampolines.co.uk, the UK online trampoline specialist, has donated a Salta inground trampoline for this year's DIY SOS: The Big Build Children in Need Special, broadcast on BBC One on Thursday 13 November 2025.
Led by Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team, the build transformed The Joshua Tree, a Cheshire charity that supports families affected by childhood cancer at every stage. Working alongside trades, suppliers, and local volunteers, the team nearly doubled the charity's space in just over 12 days, with a new two-storey building that includes therapy and counselling rooms, a gym, a teenage breakout room, and family accommodation, plus safe outdoor play areas and a therapy garden.
trampolines.co.uk's contribution sits in the new outdoor play area: a Salta inground trampoline, set level with the ground so children can step straight on, with no ladder to climb. Inground trampolines are easy to get on and off, which makes them a good fit for children of different ages and abilities, and for brothers and sisters to enjoy together.
The Joshua Tree was founded by Lynda and Dai Hill after their son, Joshua, was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of five. Today the charity supports nearly 400 families, and Joshua, now 26, helps run fitness sessions there.
Being asked to help with a DIY SOS build is a real privilege, and this one meant a great deal to the team. Families come to The Joshua Tree at the hardest time of their lives. If a trampoline in the garden gives a child half an hour of simply being a child again, bouncing, laughing, and playing with their brothers and sisters, then it has done its job. Our purpose is to change lives through play, and this build is that purpose in action.
Supporting children's charities is a long-standing part of how trampolines.co.uk works. The business provides discounted trampolines through Make-A-Wish UK when a child's wish is a trampoline, supports Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, and often donates raffle prizes to schools and good causes.
